Technical Support for Macintosh
- Insert the disk from Fishbone.
- Double-click on the Macintosh Internet disk to open it up.
- Find the file titled 'Internet Kit.sit' and double click on
it.
- The file is a self-extracting file and will ask you where you would
like to put the information. The location of the programs on your computer
us up to you. (May I suggest a fciNet folder, Internet tools folder, Fishbone
tools folder, or something to that effect for a name).
- Then the program will go through the process of extracting the files.
- When the program is done extracting, you will need to find the folder
an open it up. In the window you will find three items: Eudora 1.4, MacPPP,
and Netscape 1.1N Installer.
- The first thing you must do is to install the Config PPP and the PPP
extention, which are located in the MacPPP folder, into your system folder.
The easiest way I've found to do this is to:
- Open your hard drive, and have both the Mac PPP folder and the Hard
Disk open at the same time.
- Click on the PPP extention and, with the shift key down, click on the
Config PPP. Both of the icons will be highlighted. Release the shift button.
- Now drag the two onto the system folder (when the system folder is
highlighted, you are over it.)
- Macintosh is smart enough to put the extention in the extentions folder
and the control panel in the control panels area and it will bring up a
window saying just that.
- Click OK and it's done!
- You will also find some documents in the Mac PPP folder that will also
help you along through in setup and installation process.
- Now all you have to do is to configure the Mac
TCP for the PPP extention and the Config
PPP control panel.
